Bruce Dobbs Joins TranSystems’ Federal Sector
TranSystems recently announced that Bruce Dobbs, PE, BCEE, has joined the company as assistant vice president for its Norfolk, VA, office and will be a key leader in the firm’s federal market sector. Dobbs spent 20 years in the Air Force (1964-84) and, since then, has greatly enhanced his influence in the federal sector, marketing and winning numerous sensitive military contracts.
“Bruce will be a part of the leadership in helping shape both longer range and near-term strategic business and marketing efforts with important federal clients whose shared mission it is to elevate, plan, prepare, support, design and execute initiatives to secure and safeguard our sources of energy (short-term and renewable sustainment), the environment and efforts to reduce GHG emissions, and natural and manmade catastrophic events – foreign and domestic,” said John Stock, senior vice president/market sector leader for TranSystems’ federal group. Dobbs comes to TranSystems from the Washington Group International / EG&G Division – URS, where he held the position of Director, Security Programs – Threat Reduction and Security. His career also has included service with the U.S. Air Force, Battelle Memorial Institute, SBS Engineering, Inc., Los Alamos Technical Associates, with business development and program management roles that crossed the DoD/Air Force and Army, Volpe National Transportation Research Center, United Nations (Monitoring, Inspection and Verification Commission – WMD) and the Department of Homeland Security (Coast Guard and TSA) and a diverse geography across several continents.
Dobbs has a Master’s degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Arkansas, as well as a Master’s degree in management administration from Webster University.
